The SYREC Schools Team for NHS and Social Care Careers attended North Star 2021 at Gullivers Valley Theme Park Resort, Rotherham on Wednesday 24th November 2021.

Pupils met with Healthcare Scientists from the NHS, who specialise in Audiology. Students learnt about hearing loss, what it means for the patient and how we treat it in the NHS.

North Star is part of the national Science Summer School initiative launched in London in 2012 by Professor Brian Cox CBE and Lord Andrew Mawson OBE.

New projects connecting directly with local communities are rolling out around the country with South Yorkshire leading the way.

The North Star programme promotes and applauds innovation and opportunity in the South Yorkshire Region to inspire the next generation to consider careers in STEAM subjects.
